About This Blog
This blog is about the loss of Louisiana’s coastal wetlands. The ongoing loss is the consequence of the actions of man. The destruction of coastal wetlands have not always been the intended purpose of these actions, but the damage has long been a known consequence. The claim that damage to the wetlands was an unexpected consequence of decisions made long ago is the BIG LIE that will be examined.
As the wetlands were lost, national interests were served, and local people were hurt. This inequity will also be explored. As an attorney, I will also write about the legal issues presented. I have concluded that the Federal Government is liable for the damage caused to the coast of Louisiana, and should pay for the damage to property and the cost of restoration.
I will be posting summaries and links to documents concerning the history of the events that have damaged the coastal wetlands. I will also write about news occurring today that impacts on the Louisiana coast. I will post references to government and scientific reports. The blog site will be critical and is written from my point of view. Nevertheless, I will strive to be accurate.
The comments of others to information presented is welcome and within reason will be published. Profanity will not be published. Personal attacks will not be published. Reasoned criticism of public figures responsible for matters related to coastal wetlands in Louisiana will be considered for publication on a case by case basis. The publisher reserves the right to edit any submission presented.
If you have your own blog, feel free to create a trackback. I will also from time to time write comments in the blogs of others. Hopefully, all of us together will expand the dialog on this subject.
